Charlotte, NC - September 9, 2003 - nGuard, a Charlotte-based network security firm, has deployed a cutting-edge secure “extranet” environment to more closely collaborate with customers.

nGuard began an internal initiative in the first quarter of 2003 to select and deploy a new internal collaboration system that could later be extended to customers. The new collaboration system provided maximum security for customer and nGuard confidential information.

According to Jim Brown, Principal Consultant with nGuard, “We have just completed a very successful pilot with some of our key customers and have now gone production with our secure customer collaboration environment, code named NXO. NXO provides our clients a robust assurance that the confidentiality and integrity of their data is maintained at all times. NXO encrypts data as it travels the network and while at rest on storage subsystems. Using digital signatures ensures online identity and author authenticity. And best of all, NXO provides customers a secure way to communicate with nGuard security professionals in real time with both written and voice communications. We are using the same standards-based security technology currently employed by the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense to manage and distribute classified information.”

nGuard plans to further extend this collaboration environment to cover more customers and provide even better access and visibility to nGuard engineers.
